Its big, we'll have plenty of sitting space for the old codgers if we get there early, and having spent a full Paddys day in there one year, I can safely say its fairly hard to get kicked out of. They also sell a loverly selection of flavoured absolut. Terry's Chocolate Oran ...[text shortened]... line and its gotten some bad reviews and some great reviews. Same as everywhere I suppose.

At Last!! Options!!

'How about Match Bar just off upper Regent's Street? '

Like the sound of that, though i'm not much of a cocktails man. One thing to consider is it would be a crying shame if Angie came all the way from Frankfurt and got turned away by some bouncers, know what i'm saying 😉

She wouldn't have a prob at the ship though. Any more idea's anyone? 😀

How about the Ritz?
I quite fancy a champagne and a salmon sandwich.

Well, there's always the Alma pub in Wandsworth Town, lots of atmosphere and no music whatsoever.

And if it's a warm, sunny day in November (not bloody likely) you can always sit outside near the river at The Ship, also at Wandsworth Town (and owned by the same business).

Licensing law changes in Nov. Not sure of the exact date though (even though I am a licencee).

I do like Wandsworth, Putney as well (used to live there). But if memory serves, it doesn't have the greatest public transport links.

Do they? Don't you still need a new licence to stay open though? I heard some 400 odd pubs in London had applied, if they get one or not is another matter but i don't think it'll be a case of everywhere staying open later though..

How happy would they be with 30 drunk chess players turning up at their door...abusing each other, swearing at voicing concerns about some bloke called "Afro"

Nope, but it does keep the riff raff out 🙂

Just mainline train from Waterloo or Clapham Junction. Central London is better.

It's a photo of a club night, it's probably one of the biggest clubs in the country! Though the rest of the week it's just a pub. Put it this way, we won't be out of place playing a bit of blitz in there. 😉
